Reesa N. Benkoff is a partner at Wachler & Associates, P.C. Reesa practices in all areas of health care law and devotes a substantial portion of her practice to transactional and regulatory matters. She counsels and represents various health providers nationwide on a variety of health care-related issues, including physician in-office ancillary arrangements; physician employment relationships; hospital and physician transactions and contracting; Fraud and Abuse, Anti-Kickback Statute, and Stark Law compliance; physician transactions with management companies; regulatory compliance; business and real estate transactions; and general health care matters. Reesa also counsels clients on a variety of supply chain issues, including contract management, drafting and negotiation; supply chain coordination and standardization; procurement of products, capital equipment and services; and provision of maintenance and support services.
Reesa graduated Cum Laude from the Boston University School of Law, where she was the Executive Editor of Professional Publications for the Annual Review of Banking and Financial Law. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, with High Distinction, from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business.
Reesa is a member of the State Bar of Michigan's Health Care Law Section, the American Bar Association, the American Health Lawyers Association, and the Oakland County Bar Association. She serves as Vice Chair of The Health Lawyer Editorial Board and previously served as Vice Chair for Publication Book Editorial Board of the American Bar Association’s Health Law Section. She has served as Vice Chair of the Business & Transactions Interest Group of the American Bar Association’s Health Law Section, and is also a former Vice Chair of the American Bar Association's Health Law Section Physician Legal Issues Conference. Reesa served as a Lead Coordinator for the American Health Lawyers Association's Fraud and Abuse Practice Group and also participated in the Leadership Development Program for the American Health Lawyers Association's Physician Organization Practice Group. Reesa has been appointed to a 3-year term on the State Bar of Michigan's Health Care Law Section Council, which is the board that oversees the Health Care Law Section. Additionally, she is the Chair of the Medical/Legal Substantive Law Subcommittee and previously served on the Payors Substantive Law Subcommitee of the State Bar of Michigan's Health Care Law Section. She has been named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018. Reesa has also been listed in the 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019 Best Lawyers in America publication by U.S. News for her work in the practice area of Health Care Law. She has been honored in Hour Detroit's Top Women Attorneys in Michigan, including most recently in 2019. Reesa was named to Best Lawyers' 2017 Women in the Law edition. She was also named a member of the 2015 class of Up and Coming Lawyers by Michigan Lawyers Weekly.
